How Sick and Disabled is Maria Bauer Melinn??
Maria wants us to believe that she is so disabled, and debilitated with life-threatening heart problems that it is impossible for her to serve any time in jail–and this punishment for contempt may endanger her life. Maria has even posted pictures of herself online, showing that she is in a hospital with heart monitors taped to her chest, her face devoid of its usual flirtations. With the last of her failing strength, Maria lifts the cell phone and pushes a button.., snap! snap! A selfie reveals one last valiant stand against “injustice”.

And in a snap, everything can change– but look at this  screen shot, Maria is commenting to another mother who is pro se in a family court matter, offering help. Maria says that she is able to “call a DV shelter on Monday” before she goes to jail. Maria is acting as an advocate and willing to “talk about strategy”.

If Maria is strong enough and of sound mind so that she is able to advocate for other moms, and is able work with other domestic violence organizations in order to “help” another mom with a very difficult and time consuming family court situation… then her claims of being so sick to the point of death are highly suspect.

Maria’s Advice to Moms in Family Court: Take Benadryl!
This mom is pouring her heart out online, giving very sensitive and personal details about her family court situation, which are now made public due to her disclosures. Maria is encouraging this mom to keep talking, and to go public–with little regard for this mom’s safety or privacy, and the possible implications for revealing so much.

Maria’s advice to help this mom cope in family court: “Many Moms find Benadryl helps on court days..”

Possible side effects of Benadryl include: Drowsiness, Dizziness, Mood Swings, Blurred Vision, Confusion and Irregular or Fast Heartbeat. Allergic reactions to Benadryl can cause seizures, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face/tongue and severe dizziness.

What would happen if a mom actually took Maria’s advice and popped some Benadryl right before going into family court, especially a mom who is pro se or acting as her own attorney? Would it look good before the judge if the mom was falling asleep…if she had a sudden change in mood that affected her ability to represent herself…if her tongue swelled and she could not speak for herself in court or even breathe…..if she got dizzy or confused? Or what if the Mom had a drug interaction related to Benadryl and a medication she was already taking? How would the abuser to react to that? How would the Judge respond, the Guardian ad Litem or other court professionals?

ATW finds it alarming, and frankly irresponsible for Maria–who has NO MEDICAL TRAINING and is not a licensed medical provider– to suggest Benadryl to anyone, even worse a vulnerable mom desperate for help. Maria’s advice could potentially 1) endanger the health of a mom taking her advise and 2) have a severe and negative impact on her court case–and the relationship she has with her children if she appears to be impaired or drugged, or is unable to represent herself due to the effects of Benadryl.

Did Benadryl Contribute to Maria’s Heart Problems?
ATW can only speculate, until we have proof, but Maria’s suggestion to take Benadryl, makes you wonder if Maria is also taking Benadryl to cope with her clegal issues. One of the side effects of Benadryl is fast or irregular heartbeat, and once ingested Benadryl is almost impossible to trace.

From a report on Maria:”Domestic violence victim Maria Melinn, an ethnic Hebrew-American (genealogically verified), was subjected to these abuses, in violation of her ADA orders, right here in Allegan County, Michigan this month. She has been denied most of her heart and cholesterol medications by the Jail’s medical staff during the first 6 days of her 60-day unlawful detainment, as well as her physician-mandated mattress, wheelchair, heart monitor (via denial of the charging cord for the unit’s receiver), and physical therapy sessions for her back..As a direct result, Ms. Melinn has had 2 cardiac incidents after only 6 days under these conditions. She had a severe episode of chest pain, angina, and tachycardia on the 3rd day of her unlawful detainment, and another cardiac event on day 6. She was admitted into the progressive intensive care unit of the hospital that evening with severe chest pain and other cardiac symptoms. Her condition was able to be stabilized after nearly 24 hours of in-patient care.”

Benadryl could pose a risk to Maria’s health.. so why would she advise it to someone else?

Maria Implicates Barry Goldstein
Maria goes on to offer her unprofessional and uneducated legal assistance to this mom. Keep in mind that Maria has no legal training, no law degree and a majority of her “advocacy” training was given by the disgraced American Mothers Political Party (AMPP), where Maria once was president. AMPP has been recently exposed for their criminal acts of stalking, harassment and defammation. Their leader, Claudine Dombrowski, is facing criminal charges and has a protective order filed against her (other evidence suggests that Claudine is a serial stalker with a long history of harassment towards others).

Maria implicates Barry Goldstein as being a partner in offering advocacy services for abused women in court, whether this is true or not cannot be validated–but that Maria would use his name so publicly, and so freely could only mean they share a close relationship–or that Maria wishes they had one.

Maria states, “I will talk with you about strategy etc. in the courtroom”
Maria then goes on to offer up the services of Barry Goldstein: “we will work on how to handle cross examination… I am sure Barry will also talk to you about strategy too.”
Barry Goldstein is a former attorney now working as a domestic violence advocate, speaker and author. He does not have a current law license and cannot legally give any legal advise.
Common sense says there is only two ways to look at Maria’s implication of Barry:
1) Maria is dropping Barry’s name to give herself credibility, and to bolster her image as an advocate. And Barry may not be involved or is not aware of her remarks.
2) Barry is actively working with Maria–and the organizations she represents.
Either way this kind of advice presents a real danger for any protective mom who may be fooled into believing that Maria is a qualified advocate, and especially a danger that this advice may be used in court and jeopardize a mom’s case, and her custody/visitation.

 

Maria Bauer Melinn Continues to Exploit her Kids: New Video

Maria Bauer Melinn has launched another exploitive publicity stunt, using her youngest child as bait in her relentless pursuit for attention. In this latest video, Damon Moelter is sending a personal message to Maria’s youngest son.

Damon has been through a very difficult life so far, it is understandable that when invited to advocate for a child in a similar circumstance, he would have a hard time refusing a request, and may even feel a responsibility to speak out. We would hope that adults that are around Damon would try to create, and encourage him, to have a fresh start with his life from this point forward. We would also hope those same adults would be sensitive to his triggers, and possible re-traumatization by exposing or placing Damon in situations where he may be held back from having that fresh start.

Children Exploited by Publicity Seeking Maria

Maria continues to exploit all her children in a public forum revealing their identities and showing a lack of concern about their safety or privacy. Even worse, knowing that this unwanted attention greatly traumatized one of her older children–why would Maria continue on the same course, and put her youngest at risk?

Maria claims to be a victim of abuse, and she will tell you that she is putting this information all over the internet and elsewhere to protect her children. But what is a protective mother, REALLY?? The instinct of a protective mother would be to protect her child from any potential harm, exposure or ridicule. Also, it is a standard cultural rule that minor children are protected by surrounding adults in any given situation, that especially their identity and the use of the minor’s image is shielded from any potentially damaging exposure or attention. Any advocacy group should do the same—and be trained to safeguard the privacy and safety of a child, and to take actions or report if a child is at risk.

Video Suggests Support from Safe Kids International

Obviously, Maria did not create this video on her own—she is likely being supported by Safe Kids International. Damon Moelter is a survivor of family court, who went on the run to avoid living with his abusive biological father and then married at age 16 to become an emancipated adult. Damon’s mother, Cindy Dumas, is the founder of Safe Kids International. It is unreasonable to think this statement was given without the consent or help of Safe Kids International, not to mention the planning and organization need to produce and publish such a video.

Did Safe Kids International do any fact checking before asking Damon to do this video? It was not too long ago that Maria and sidekick Deanna Tarrow Kloostra created another YouTube video featuring this same child, pressuring him into making abuse allegations against his biological father. The video generated so many complaints that it was eventually taken off the web–but not before Maria passed it around, and to several other advocacy organizations. Though the video was removed, it lingers in the minds of those who saw it or heard of it–and this child’s safety and privacy was greatly compromised. Any organization needs to be extremely careful when endorsing anyone to be sure that who they are endorsing is credible.

And look at Maria’s YouTube profile picture next to this video, she strikes a seductive pose with her blouse unbuttoned low and sucking on one finger..is this the representative Safe Kids wants for their organization? To portray a protective mom?

Maria: Protege of American Mothers Political Party (AMPP)

Maria has learned well the art of exploitation, and making a public spectacle of herself. Maria is a protege and former president of the disgraced American Mothers Political Party (AMPP). AMPP is abuse advocacy group who claims to be helping protective mothers but whose tactics have shown them to be abusers in disguise. In the name of “advocacy” AMPP has stalked, threatened, harassed and started a campaign of online bullying against court officials as well as fellow advocates and professionals, and other protective moms. AMPP is known for publicizing the stories of protective moms who come to them for help–not only do they encourage moms to go public with very sensitive details of their case but also encourage moms to attack the court officials involved in it. Or anyone they view as an “enemy”. Claudine Dombrowski, co-founder of AMPP, incited a lot of publicity surrounding her own case, often to the detriment of her minor child whose identity and privacy has been completely taken over by her publicity seeking mother. Claudine is now facing criminal charges and has a protective order issued against her due to her criminal behavior–done in the name of advocacy.

Maria is also the motorcycle gal pal of Deanna Tarrow Kloostra, also an AMPP member, and founder of advocacy group Abused Swan. Deanna helped Maria post a video of her youngest son, in which the child was coerced and pressured into making abuse allegations against his biological father. As a result of this video, AMPP supposedly broke ties with Maria but many of its members–as well as other organizations in the Mother’s Movement–continue to work with Maria as well as Deanna Tarrow Kloostra and show support to Abused Swan and her Family Court Workbook.

How did Claudine Dombrowski get away with cyber stalking, harassment and online bullying for so long?

As tempting as it is to put all the blame on Claudine, she was enabled by sympathizers the Mother’s Movement (including many of those pictured below).

Many organizations in the Mother’s Movement not only looked the other way, and made excuses for Claudine as she continued to bully, harass and terrorize, but in some cases they promoted Claudine and her “Attack Mothers” ( AMPP). Anyone who tried to stand up to Claudine and her abusive ways were swiftly and viciously attacked, or forced into silence.

California Protective Parents Association (CPPA), Center for Judicial Excellence (CJE), Mothers of Lost Children (MOLC) and Safe Child Coalition work very closely together and might be run by the same small group of advocates-( see below; the same advocate who is a Chapter Leader for MOLC is also a Chapter Leader for Safe Child Coalition)

-all who have supported and actively promoted Claudine Dombrowski and AMPP. Their support and promotion continues even when all were aware of Claudine and AMPP’s abuse and cyber bullying towards Protective Mothers Alliance (PMA) and Lawless, and others. Also, it is very easy to go online and within seconds, see evidence in the search results that strongly suggest that Claudine has bullied, tormented, and made obscene postings about a number of people, and organizations. How could the Mother’s Movement continue to promote Claudine under these circumstances?

Claudine was a featured speaker at the Battered Mother’s Custody Conference (BMCC), speaking against abuse even as she was a perpetrator of abuse and other criminal acts.

Having her moment under the lights at the BMCC, was so important to Claudine that she canceled a scheduled visit with her daughter. Are these the actions of a mother who would do anything to see her child after a long estrangement?

Kyle Wigglesworth, an AMPP Attack Mother, struggles to defend AMPP on Barry Goldstein’s wall. Kyle has posted many false, misleading and defamatory comments on Barry’s wall against PMA, Bill Windsor and Lawless, and even attacking other protective moms.

These are just a few examples on how many professionals and organizations within the Mother’s Movement promoted Claudine and AMPP (the only exception ATW could find is Protective Mothers Alliance-PMA- International, and they became one of the primary targets of Claudine’s attacks).

That the Mother’s Movement would give refuge to an abuser like Claudine, and look the other way while she has caused real harm to countless victims should make you ask is any mother really safe? These are organizations that promote themselves to be domestic violence experts, advocates for women, and being such domestic violence experts they should know how to discern an abuser from a victim, an abuser from a traumatized woman, and then be able take action to protect and defend the victim. But if these organizations can’t do that within their own movement, how can they be expected and trusted to do that for protective moms in family court???

Maria Melinn Calls for Jail Protest – Does She Deserve It?

ATW NOTE: We at ATW clearly understand that that there are systemic failures in family court including gender bias towards Mothers, corruption and general incompetence that occurs. We at ATW acknowledge that there are Mothers jailed every day for unfair, and unjust reasons.

With this in mind we should not be blinded to the truth. We need to take a closer look when the history, patterns of behavior, and documented evidence suggests that certain individuals claiming to be victims (or even advocates) are not being truthful, and may in fact be abusers—not victims. The drama and chaos caused by these
individuals make it very difficult for others to tell if abuse or injustice is present, we understand this.

Clearly Maria Melinn, has shown by her patterns of behavior and the evidence posted in the public domain, that she has a serious lack of regard for her children’s’ safety, personal feelings and overall well-being. Maria repeatedly has put her own needs/wants in front of that of her children. This is a pattern of behavior, with a history behind it, not just a momentary lapse of judgment.

ATW supports mothers facing injustice in family court. We also condemn predator parents ( mothers OR fathers)—including moms like Maria Melinn—who are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Predator Moms are pretending to be victims, pretending to be protective mothers. They exhaust the resources of advocates and organizations who are trying to help the honest victim. They exhaust the advocates’ and organizations’ time, energy and draw attention to themselves, away from honest protective mothers who urgently need help . They are unable or unwilling to focus on their children or making meaningful change because they demand so much attention or create so much chaos. Their needs come first in everything as they seek the spotlight, or manipulate others to do their bidding. When confronted they cry abuse—they never take responsibility, and claim to be the victim to avoid being exposed in their lies and game playing. These Moms exploit pain and tragedy for their own gain.

Predator Moms are harming real protective mothers and destroying the credibility of the Mother’s Movement. ATW is committed to exposing Predator Moms and the organizations that support/help them.

Breaking News:
We understand that once again Maria Bauer Melinn has been thrown in jail by Judge Cronin…she will be required to spend three days a week in jail from now until November 2013.

-Posted on Child Endangerment Alerts, a sister site to “Abused Swan” is a CPS document (from Feb 2009) Maria thought would further her claims of abuse against her ex but instead reveals that Maria sought abuse charges against her ex that were investigated and found to be without merit and that when asked to get a statement from a medical doctor to prove her allegations of abuse, Maria was unable to do so. Also in this report, Mr. Melinn admitted to one act of domestic violence that occurred about 10 years earlier but was found, at this time, to be an appropriate caregiver.

Also in this report, “This worker informed Ms. Melinn that I would be denying my case as the injuries — sustained all appear to be accidental and that the kids all told me that they were happy living with their dad. Ms. Melinn stated they are just saying that because they are scared of their dad. The worker told her that may be, but I had no evidence to prove that.”

Maria could not get her evidence introduced because she lacked a certified copy of a police report, and the CPS report was found to be heresy so she calls her son to testify and give evidence, pressuring this child (as she later did with her youngest in that infamous video) to make abuse allegations against his father, and take the side of his mother (Maria).

It seems more likely that Maria planned to call her son as a witness all along, because most Courts have a procedure to introduce evidence that includes creating a witness list, and that the child would just be available to testify and just happen to be at the courtroom is very unlikely unless it was planned for him to be there.

The child clearly stated he did not want to be on the witness stand, he did not want to be involved. Instead of respecting his wishes, Maria calls him to the witness stand anyways and says his reluctance must be because he is being abused.

In a bizarre twist, Deanna the court watcher then accuses Mr. Melinn of “parental alienation” and her “proof” is unfounded allegations that Mr. Melinn would drill the child for information regarding what happened in Maria’s home.. and yet Maria is doing exactly this by forcing her child to go on the witness stand and drilling him with questions, and pressuring him to make abuse allegations. Instead of respecting the child’s wishes to be left alone, and kept out of legal proceedings. Maria then goes online posting personal information about her children, using their full legal name and repeating abuse allegations after being asked not to involve her children in this!

Direct Quote: “After her documents were not allowed as evidence Maria called her (second oldest) son — to the stand. Once on the stand, — stated he did not want to be involved. If the child did not want to be involved, what was he doing at the hearing? Maria understands that her children do not tell the truth so that they are not harmed physically or mentally and does not hold anything the child says or does against him.”

Deanna Kloostra: The Politician Wet her Pants

Deanna Lynn (Tarrow) Kloostra, Grand Rapids, Michigan

Deanna is a mother of three children who has been through a contentious divorce and custody battle. For this article, ATW is not discussing the details of Deanna’s custody case, but rather focusing on her involvement with American Mothers Political Party (AMPP) and the allegations surrounding their battle with Bill Windsor of Lawless America. What this article focuses on is that Deanna claims to be a victim of domestic violence who lost custody of her children due to family court abuse, she sought support from AMPP and with their support, engaged in online bullying and ran for political office under the guise of family court reform.

Deanna and AMPP: AMPP was originally created to be an actual political party NOT an advocacy group–Deanna joined their ranks around 2009. Deanna began her political aspirations when she ran for Kent County Commissioner in 2012 (lost by a landslide) and is now running for the 2018 State Senate.

Tactics used by Deanna that are also common to the members of AMPP’s “internet posse” include the following…
-Deanna has created attack facebook/websites (targeting not only her ex and his attorney but also stating that the judge, guardian ad litem, the supervised visitation center, the court appointed supervisor are participating in a conspiracy against her).

In April 2009, the original circuit court judge assigned to Deanna’s case, Judge Patricia Gardner, requested to be relieved of responsibility, stating that she “has been the target of abuse and criticism by the parties or others,” and that the parties’ “focus … has been the harassment of the judge rather than on the best interest of the children.” Judge Gardner specifically mentioned the websites created by Deanna as part of the “abuse and criticism”. Deanna counters by stating that the Court withheld contact from her children to force her (Deanna) to shut down her websites.

Other AMPP members (Claudine Dombrowski is infamous for this) have created attack websites and social media pages to target named “enemies” and use intimidation and harassment as a means to get what they want.

-Deanna has used her daughter’s picture and name, posting information about her daughter on the internet without little regard to her daughter’s privacy or safety. Deanna used her daughter’s picture on the “Elect Deanna Kloostra” facebook page to gain sympathy votes. Other AMPP members, including Maria Melinn, have similarly exploited their own children to further their personal agenda.

-Deanna has joined AMPP in attacking Bill Windsor. In fact, the conspiracy that AMPP invents about Bill Windsor is similar to the conspiracy its members accuse family court of participating in. These grandiose fantasies of being the persecuted victim break down when you look at the actions and words of AMPP and it’s members who reveal themselves to be bullies and abusers. Victim of abuse and professional advocates do not engage in harassment, libel, threats, attack websites and criminal behavior–abusers do. The documentation ATW has posted and will continue to post will clearly demonstrate this.

Through AMPP, Deanna met her bestie Maria (Bauer) Melinn–former President of AMPP. Deanna founded an “abuse advocacy” groups named for her daughter, Abused Swan. Maria also works with Deanna on Abused Swan, they court watch and socialize together.

Deanna & Lawless:
In summer 2012, Deanna began to work closely with Bill Windsor on the Kent County Lawless Facebook page (updated). DLater, Deanna filmed her own testimony with Bill. At the time Maria Melinn was also closely associated with Lawless. Both have since have been removed from Lawless amid controversy that resulted in attempts to destroy the Lawless documentary, and the credibility of Bill Windsor. Why would two supposed protective moms want to destroy a documentary film project that could give voice to the plight of domestic violence victims fleeing abuse only to encounter further abuse in family court? Why aren’t these moms willing to work with Bill and resolve differences in a professional way? Clearly these abuser moms are using Lawless to gain attention, and win sympathy posing by as victims and then furthering their own selfish interests (in the case of Deanna, that would be her political career)..but is there something bigger at stake?

SO WHAT WENT WRONG???

Deanna and her supporters (which once included AMPP and the Joeys) want you to believe that she is the victim of Bill Windsor, who attacks protective mothers and puts their lives in danger. Deanna would have you believe that Bill Windsor just kicked her out of Lawless, after she slaved on the project, for no reason other than he hates women. But is this true?? AMPP has not provided any credible evidence to back up their claims; they manipulate sympathy and elicit an emotional response so supporters will set aside reason and logic. If no one is questioning AMPP’s outrageous claims (or has been intimidated into silence) or demanding proof, the Attack Moms are unopposed, they can do whatever they want. This is why it is so important that the Mother’s Movement and its professionals pay attention to what is happening within their own ranks, AMPP and other abusers like them need to be held accountable, there should be no place for abusers (even female abusers) working alongside victims in the Movement.

Taking the victim role, Deanna claims that Bill falsely accused her of stealing a password that he (Bill) must have lost and then kicked her out of Lawless for no reason. HOWEVER this story fails to mention that Deanna was attacking Bill Windsor, and Lawless BEFORE the incident with the password. In fact, it seems Bill was unaware that the wolves were circling around Lawless because Deanna was attacking Bill online at a time that she was working with Lawless. So this story about Bill attacking protective moms is just another lie from the abuser moms.

Jan 20, 2013: Lorraine Tipton aka Rainy68 creates a video called “The Pie Man Floateth” mocking The Lawless America documentary and depicting Bill as Hitler. Joining in the nasty comments are Claudine Dombrowski, Diane G (Gochin) and Kimberly W (Wigglesworth)—all who have claimed to be victims then went on to attack and harass Bill and Lawless supporters.

On a warm sunny mother’s day, one family grieves and the other is laughing and plotting over the greatest heartbreak a mother can experience–the loss of her child.

The mother who is laughing and plotting is none other than Maria Bauer Melinn.

Those who grieve are her victims, her children, and those sincerely devastated by the death of Michael Melinn–Maria’s own son. Instead of honoring Michael’s memory this Mother’s Day, Maria Melinn is laughing (we don’t understand why!) and plotting ways to drum up more publicity for herself, and further exploit her children–who have been dragged into Maria Melinn’s never-ending campaign of self promotion.

In the interest of truth, transparency and clarity, we have decided to post our response to reinforce for all our readers A.T.W’s intention and purpose. We at A.T.W are very well aware of the problems faced by moms along with the dynamics of family court and D.V victims. We are also aware of abuse-by-proxy and the damage caused by this type of abuse. We understand many changes need to be made in family court in order to protect the children and their mothers. We take great pains to thoroughly research documented proof before we post information. We post proof in the form of official public court documents, public police records or screen shots that show a statement made in our subject’s own words.We also note sequence of events to further stay true to the truth as we do not want to take an event out of context,which might be confusing and deceiving. We present the truth with proof to back it up and let the reader decide. We are not gender bias. Just because a advocate/ mom says something, does not make it so. Occasionally, a self-proclaimed victim’s advocate and DV “expert” is really an abuser and bully in disguise. We are not blind to the truth, backed up with documented proof because of a person’s gender. We research and provide the proof. We are simply seeking the truth ,regardless of gender, and presenting the documented proof to the readers.

Has the FBI been notified about the judge? Looking at the story and the comments it is appauling that the judge is still on the bench.

WTF is PMA and why would they post that they were new and then fell apart in such a short period of time?

“Campus Cougars” is wrong to think PMA has fallen apart, the organization is still going strong, and has not been deterred from its mission to support abused mothers dealing with injustice in family court.

This next attack gets even worse. Mia Tyler Kailin speculates that PMA is compromising the privacy of its members, and her “proof” is frequent use of the word “IF”. Meaning she is making all this up.

If I had ever shared my court documents with PMA I would be scared to openly comment. If they had all my information I believe they could use it against me if I ever turned on them as they would have the names of all the parties, their attorneys, GAL, and other players.

I may carry the voice of some other mothers who can’t speak for the above reason. There is no alliance in the protective mothers alliance, as illustrated by Janice Levinson’s posts. The first one advertises their org instead of supporting the mother. On a page explaining a woman’s plight, Janice felt it was appropriate to spam for more business. Tacky at best. In regards to the second post. Who cares if Maria is still a part of PMA or not? The mothers whom she helps could care less what orgs she belongs to!

REALLY?!?! If the mothers who Melinn helps “could care less what org she belongs to” why then the need to attack PMA?

Kailin then lies and says PMA is part of the Father’s Rights Movement: “PMA is currently busy with Occupy Family Courts, they have teamed up. Occupy Family Courts has been supported by the fathers rights movement in Canada for a long time. Protective mothers beware, take care so that you too are not revictimized.”

More on this later.. Reading these online verbal attacks from AMPP just shows this group has no regard for the truth, and will just make stuff up rather than look for truth. AMPP cannot discern truth from lies, and seems to prefer telling lies when it suits their agenda…how then can this group ever advocate for abused women and children, where TRUTH MATTERS THE MOST?!?

What does this tell you?

1) American Mothers Political Party (AMPP) is intentionally spreading rumors and disinformation about Protective Mothers Alliance International (PMA). You cannot believe a word they say.

2) The lies AMPP is spreading is scaring some of the mothers who hear it, and keeping abuse victims from getting additional support/resources.

3) AMPP will make false allegations without any proof or evidence. AMPP creates fear, and triggers past memories of abuse and/or trauma to create an emotional reaction, meant to cause abuse victims to flee or go on the defense…. people then are manipulated into joining AMPP and waging a war against its “enemies”.

3) How Maria Bauer Melinn is treated? From what I can see, Melinn was treated with RESPECT!! It is the reaction from AMPP, and it’s members that is abusive and out of line!

Melinn parted ways with PMA, and on her resume lists PMA as a reference. Are these the actions of someone who has been wronged? Melinn went on to become president of AMPP. AMPP admits they “hand selected” Melinn because of her experience working with battered women–she garnered some of this experience by working with PMA. These allegations that PMA somehow hurt Melinn is ridiculous–obviously not true.

I am executive director of an organization called Protective Mothers Alliance International. Maria is one of our State Chapter Leaders.
PMA has been in existence for only one year. Lundy Bancroft and I co founded PMA because of the desperate need to bring to light what is happening in family courts.

The point that I wish to make is that Maria’s situation is NOT an isolated occurrence.

PMA at present has approximately 70 state chapter leaders nationwide, and we are quickly growing in numbers everyday. Our leaders are all fit mothers who have their own nightmare story to tell. Sadly, this is an epidemic in this country.

Family court judges have placed gag orders on moms, taken children away from protective moms by ex parte orders when children were CLEARLY not in danger and have taken children away from loving, fit moms while they were kicking and screaming all the way. In some leaders situations, children were handed over to dads who were CONVICTED sex offenders.

The volume of human rights violations and the stories that PMA has heard in just one year, is profound. Double standards are the norm since it seems that dads can violate court orders with no consequences, yet if mom does EXACTLY the same thing , she gets thrown in jail. The time for this nonsense is quickly coming to an end however.

Pma has band together not only protective mothers but the CHILDREN who have aged out of the system and are now ready to speak out about how family court abuse has damaged their lives. When it comes “out of the mouth of babes” and we come together in solidarity by the hundreds( PMA and other advocacy groups) WITH our children all our voices will finally be heard and the light will shine on the truth.
